How do I book a session?

1. Who Must Write MHT-CET and Who Can Skip it?

3. Exam Snapshot

  • Groups: PCM or PCB; you may opt for both.

  • Duration: 180 min; Physics + Chemistry first 90 min, then Mathematics or Biology next 90 min.

  • Weightage: 20 % Class XI + 80 % Class XII State board syllabus.

    Questions:

    • Paper-I Maths - 50 Qs × 2 marks

    • Paper-II Physics & Chem - 50 + 50 Qs × 1 mark

    • Paper-III Biology - 100 Qs × 1 mark

  • Marking: No negative marking.

  • Languages: Physics/Chem/Bio in English / Marathi / Urdu; Maths in English only.

4. Eligibility and Candidature Types

  • General bar: Indian national, 10+2 pass; no age cap.

  • Marks: 45 % (Gen) / 40 % (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) in required subjects.

  • Maharashtra-quota buckets: Type A (domicile/birth), Type B (parent domicile), Type C (GoI posting), Type D (state-govt employee child), Type E (Maha-Karnataka border Marathi) .

  • Reservations: 27 % OBC, 21 % SC, 2 % ST, 10 % EWS, 5 % PwD + separate Minority & Defence slabs under CAP seats.

5. Registration & Fee Payment (Online Only)

  1. Create a login at mahacet.org and fill out the multi-page form.

  2. Upload photo (2-inch × 2-inch, 100 KB-5 MB) and signature as per specs.

  3. Pay exam fee (₹ 1,000 Gen / ₹800 reserved for one group; double for both).

  4. Save your Application No., password, and the fee receipt.

6. On Exam Day

  • Reach centre before 08:45 AM / 1:45 PM gate close.

  • Carry printed admit card + original photo ID (AADHAAR, passport, DL, etc.).

  • No gadgets; exam ends exactly at the 180-minute mark extra time.

7. Scoring & Normalisation

Results are declared as percentiles, not raw marks. Each group (PCM, PCB) is normalised separately; scores cannot be interchanged between groups.

9. Document Checklist at Reporting Centre

  • MHT-CET score card

  • 10th & 12th mark sheets

  • Domicile/caste / EWS / PwD certificates (as applicable)

  • Photo ID & admit card

  • Anti-ragging affidavits, medical fitness, blood-group report

10. Special Categories & Lateral Entry

  • All-India quota: 15 % seats in Govt/Aided institutes; filled on JEE-Main or NEET rank where applicable.

  • Minority institutes: 50 % seats for the declared linguistic/religious community.

  • NRI/OCI/PIO & Gulf: up to 5 % supernumerary seats; MHT-CET not required.

  • Direct 2nd Year B.Tech/B.Pharm: 10 % over and above intake for diploma holders (Engineering) or D-Pharm (Pharmacy) .

11. Fee Snapshot (Govt vs Private)

  • CAP part-academic fee: ₹ 40,000 (reserved ₹- varies) at the allotment.

  • Final tuition: per Fee-Regulating Committee order-Govt colleges ~₹90 k / yr; private ₹1.2-1.6 L / yr (2024 range).

12. Pro Tips for a Smooth Ride

  1. Attempt full syllabus mocks early-MHT-CET’s mix of JEE-level maths & NEET-style PCB surprises many.

  2. Fill every viable choice in Round 1; adding later isn’t allowed.

  3. Keep PDFs (<200 KB) of all certificates ready for upload.

  4. Bookmark mahacet.org and check daily; the Cell rarely emails personal alerts.
